New York, New York - (NewMediaWire) - September 8, 2023 - Mriya Gallery, a forward-thinking conceptual venue dedicated to showcasing the brilliance of Ukrainian art, is preparing to open its doors in the heart of New York City on September 15. As anticipation builds for this cultural milestone, Mriya Gallery is already actively engaging in the New York social and cultural scene. The gallery made waves by participating in the recent TOP USA Awards event, solidifying its commitment to fostering Ukrainian artistry and contributing to support for Ukraine during the war.
This year's TOP USA Awards ceremony took place on July 22, 2023 to celebrate the achievements of remarkable entrepreneurs with Ukrainian roots who have made marks on the American business landscape. The awards event, known for its grand scale and prestige, recognizes the contributions of individuals whose Ukrainian origins have influenced their entrepreneurial journeys in the United States.
Mriya Gallery proudly supported the TOP USA Awards event as a sponsor. Participating in the gala night is the Mriya team's way to align its mission to uplift Ukrainian artists with the acknowledgment of accomplished entrepreneurs who share the same heritage and values. This strategic collaboration also proves the gallery's focus on nurturing the connection between Ukrainian art, culture, and entrepreneurship in the USA and beyond.
One of the event's most impactful segments was a charity auction organized to raise money for Ukraine amidst the wartime turmoil. Mriya Gallery kindly donated some of its art to the auction to not only help the fundraising effort but to promote talented Ukrainian painters and creators as well. A painting by renowned Ukrainian artist Yury Vatkin, showcased within the gallery's collection, was one of the centerpieces of the gala night. The artwork achieved a remarkable feat by generating a winning bid of $15,000 and ended up bringing the biggest sum to the charity fund of the event.
All the auction money went directly to the United 24 charity fund, an initiative established by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The combined efforts of the TOP USA event attendees, sponsors, and organizers yielded an astounding $80,000. The Mriya Gallery team was excited to be part of the initiative.
"We are proud to have played a role in this effort for the sake of Ukraine, its people and culture, and its future," said Artem Yalanskiy , the founder of Mriya. "The powerful combination of art and compassion is central to our core values, and we are happy to see the impact we were able to facilitate through the event."
The upcoming opening of Mriya Gallery is due on September 15. The venue at 101 Reade St, New York is a sophisticated, multifaceted space that is now home to numerous artworks by such talented artists as Pavlo Vasilchenko, Yuriy Vatkin, Mykhailo Pokutnii, Dasha Kandinsky, and others. A wide range of styles, themes, and artistic approaches makes Mriya a truly captivating space for any art aficionado interested in what Ukraine a historically culturally rich, and diverse territory has to offer.
At the moment, the gallery's team is diligently preparing for the official launch, showing glimpses of its interior and collection through their official Instagram page. Mriya's dedication to exclusively featuring Ukrainian artists and promoting their work falls under the umbrella of its broader mission of offering a platform that encapsulates the richness and authenticity of Ukrainian art and culture.
Beyond its love for art, Mriya Gallery is devoted to helping the brave Ukrainian people through its partnership with the Peace for the Future charity fund. By allocating a portion of its profits to the organization, the gallery does its part in bringing closer a peaceful future for Ukraine. Even the galley name is a reflection of this mission. "Mriya" translates from the Ukrainian language as "dream":
"We all dream of a peaceful future for us and our children. The name of our gallery also honors the world's largest aircraft built in Ukraine the Antonov AN-225 which was destroyed by the Russian army at the outset of their invasion in 2022. Through our space, we want to eternalize the memory of the outstanding Ukrainian heritage and foster future achievements by our compatriots", explained Yalanskiy.
