Volta Art Fair 2024

Organized by Mriya Gallery, Curated by Rukh Art Hub

Booth Concept:

The changing of epochs is kindred to the natural disasters — it can be just as fierce as the tectonic shifts, eruptions, or engulfing-all tsunamis. In time, the waters will recede, the ground will be still once more, and pools of molten lava will become enduring boulders — Earth’s gashing scars will heal, new ecosystems will emerge, the gardens once again will bloom, and nations will beget surfeits of sons and daughters. In times of change, we all are drawn to something sacred, to higher powers that have the might to shield the small and weak from all the sadness, misery, and havoc. And so mortals conjure up the gods, and they make offerings in hopes of connecting, and dream that they can touch the skies and bond with the divine.

These brand-new gods are new ideas, concepts, values; and they, at first, are nothing but chimeras, phantoms in the ether, but they, with time, take shape, and come into their own. We put together our Volta booth as if it were a sacred temple — a place to house art created in the changing times.
