Janis Jakobsons

Latvian-born, New York-based artist, curator, and Co-Founder of Tukku Magi Project (www.tukkumagi.org) Janis Jakobsons’ work has been exhibited worldwide, including at the Design Museum in Ghent, Belgium; Design Museum Helsinki, Finland; Stadelijk Museum, Hertogenbosch, Netherlands; Lalunis Juveieri Museum, Athens, Greece; Kunstlerhaus, Vienna, Austria; Tartu Museum, Tallinn, Estonia; Portland Museum of Art, Portland, OR; Museum of Decorative Arts and Design, Riga, Latvia; and the Latvian National Museum of Art, Riga, Latvia. His work is also featured in private galleries in New York, San Francisco, Brussels, Munich, Stockholm, and Tokyo.

Jakobsons’ art is part of prominent collections such as The Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Museum at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ; the Latvian National Museum of Art; and the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design, Riga, Latvia.
